A/Prof. Colin Chan shortlisted for major photography award

Dr Colin Chan has been shortlisted for the Australian Photography Awards in the Wildlife category. A keen amateur bird and wildlife photographer, Dr Chan finds his photography pursuits complement and enhance his profession as an ophthalmic surgeon. "Most good photographs don't happen by luck- you have to get to know an animal, know its habits and behaviours over time and then have the patience to wait for the right opportunity. Getting out in nature I also find helps both open and focus my mind. "
